The Kent Law Firm is going from strength to strength. With that, the team is also going through some significant changes to accommodate the increase in client base and maintain its reputation of excellent service. Michael Kent - Solicitor

Born 1960 in Brisbane, Michael completed high school at Gregory Terrace in 1977 and graduated from Queensland Institute of Technology (now QUT) in June 1985. Michael was admitted as a solicitor on 10 August 1987. Michael represented Australia in the 110 metre hurdles, was Queensland State and Junior Champion in 110 metres hurdles and 400 metres hurdles and was an Australian Colleges Rugby Union representative. As if this wasn’t enough, Michael is an active Surf Lifesaver with Coolum Beach SLSC, holding bronze medallion, radio operators, first aid, IRD driver and IRB crewman certificates. Completing his life is his wife, Lisa and their three beautiful daughters.

Keith

Keith Matsen - Solicitor

Keith has been a Solicitor since March, 2000. He joined The Kent Law Firm in February, 2007 bringing with him a strong background in commercial law, estates and wills, litigation and leasing. Keith has great interpersonal skills with both clients and staff alike. Keith loves nothing more on the weekends than watching a good game of rugby or spending time at the beach.

Carol Marcroft - Legal Support Assistant

Carol has vast experience as a legal secretary covering litigation and commercial acquisitions, to estate planning, wills, estate administration and debt recovery. Carol is also a marriage celebrant and takes great delight in helping couples plan for a wonderful and memorable wedding day. Carol loves living on the Sunshine Coast, which she says is paradise and it compliments her love of nature and the world generally. She likes travelling and her friends. She has a strong sense of justice and enjoys working for The Kent Law Firm.

Carolyn Middelberg - Accountant/Financial Controller

Carolyn joined The Kent Law Firm in February 2006 after spending many years working for various accounting firms in business advisory services. Carolyn is a member of the Chartered Accountants of Australia and enjoys the challenges of focusing on one enterprise after a number of years of looking after varied clients. Carolyn has spent time living in London and Vanuatu but considers Coolum paradise, however finds time to return to her native New Zealand when possible. With children aged 7 and 10 to keep her busy Carolyn works three days a week to ensure she has time to enjoy the beauty of the coast.

Lucy Whitehill - Marketing Co-Coordinator

Lucy emigrated to Australia from England in September 2006 with her husband and two young children. She comes to The Kent Law Firm with five years’ experience working in direct marketing for two publishing companies and two years with a PR company in charge of the biggest trade exhibition in the UK. Having always been fit and loving the outdoor life, Lucy fits in perfectly on the Sunshine Coast and spends much of her time fishing with her children, running at the National Park and soaking up the scenery!

Ann-Marie Koning - Paralegal and IT support

Working in most areas of law since 1980, Ann-Marie is a self-confessed computer nerd who likes nothing better than straight dictaphone typing. Married since 1979 with a teenage son and daughter Ann-Marie moved from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast in 1997 and has worked either part-time or full-time for The Kent Law Firm since 1999. She loves to read and travel, but often spends “free time” doing bookwork for her daughter’s ballet school, or typing for an author.
